Did you mean that you wish for the "light" from the moon will be casting
light on other objects in your scene. If so, you need to add an actual
light source to your object for this purpose and parent it to the center
of your moon object. I would suggest finding a white-ish blue color to
assign to this light. You may also wish to choose shadow mapping, or if
you don't have the ram for it, use ray trace. Choose the same color for
the ambient lighting which should be set to a very low number. For a bit
of added realism, try creating a deep colored background image which
gradates from a very dark blue at the top to black at the bottom and
experiment with various fog settings...
